Ask the Principal

Q: I see that you listed Viking Pride recipients in your Highlights and Successes. What are the Viking Pride Awards?

A: The Viking Pride Awards are meant to recognize outstanding performance. Students are nominated for a Viking Pride Award by a staff member for things like hard work, good grades, positive participation, good deeds, or other positive characteristics. We announce the weekly winners on Friday over the public address system, and then I meet with the students to congratulate them. The recipients’ pictures are on display in our main hallway for that week. It’s a great way to recognize some of the positive contributions our students are making to our school culture on a regular basis.
