Staff Spotlight

Name: Jessica Burton

Position: Teaching Art and Head Girls Lacrosse Coach
Years at Fremd: This is my 1st year!
Life Before Fremd: In my life before Fremd I was a photographer, artist representative, food truck driver, and operations manager. Working in the corporate world made me realize how important creative and divergent skills can set you apart from your peers. This realization motivated me to pursue my MAT in Art Education to teach students about the importance of art in our society by bringing creative problem solving and real-world applications of art and design into the classroom.
Hobbies/Interests: I teach art at the local, state and national levels and I like Arting all the time , exploring Chicago, coaching awesome lacrosse players, watching the Blackhawks, and balancing on my head in yoga.
Insider Tip for Parents: Art is a vehicle for creative and divergent thinking that is essential to your students success no matter what their intended career goals!
