Highlights and Successes:

• Congratulations to Kurt Tenopir on being elected to the Division 2 Seat of the IHSA Board of Directors.
• Congratulations to the Fremd High School Math Team for earning first place at the North Suburban Math League meet on Thursday, September 26 against IMSA, New Trier, Naperville Central, and the University of Chicago Lab School. The following students wrote perfect papers: Kevin Chen (oralist), Shoya Yamazaki (freshman), Angelina Zhang (freshman), Alice Chen (sophomore), Kinllen Peng (sophomore), Nipun Velupally (sophomore), Aksel Balkir (senior), Edward Li (senior), and Adhith Palla (senior).
• Congratulations to Coach Joe Marcin and the  Girls Varsity Cross Country Team on placing 3rd out of 31 schools to earn a trophy at the the Peoria Invitational.  Individual medal winners include Marisa Ban 12th place (18:12), Rebecca Markham 16th (18:20), and Julia Finegan 21st (18:28).
• Congratulations to Coach Darius Sanchez and the Boys Cross Country Team on placing 12th overall out of 33 teams at the Peoria Invite.  Ed Worthem 29th place
• Congratulations to the Viking Marching Band for being awarded third place in the very competitive AA Division (15 bands) at the NIU/Phantom Regiment “Red and Black Classic” this past Saturday in DeKalb.  The band is under the direction of Matt Moore and JT Teichert.”
• Congratulations to the Fremd Chamber Singers on their auditions for the regional/All-State choirs on Monday!  The following 19 students were selected for the regional choir, another record number for Fremd Choir and one of the largest numbers in the area: Mary Kate Baughman- Alto II, Denise Carlson- Soprano II, Pranit Cheikycharla- Bass I, Paige Dirkes-Jacks- Soprano II, Jason Freer- Bass I, Gina Gonzalez- Alto I, Leah Hillesheim- Soprano I, Natalia Lastowiecka- Soprano I, Brian Lech- Bass II, Noah Mayo- Bass II, Allison Nakazawa- Alto II, Arinze Okammor- Tenor II, Donald Osborn- Bass I, Ria Ravi- Alto I, Lincoln Skoien- Tenor I, Mayuri Srikanth- Alto II, Vaishnavi Vembar- Soprano I, Annie Yamamoto- Soprano II, and Jerry Zheng- Tenor I
